Privacy policy
Last updated October 12, 2026
The short version. Video and photos of your dog stay on your phone. Tilty never uploads them. If you say yes, Tilty tells us anonymously which sounds played and how your dog reacted, so we can make better sounds. You can change your answer any time in Tilty's settings.
Who we are
Tilty is made by Vibelabs AS (organisation number 936 918 808), Tunfaret 12, 0373 Oslo, Norway. We decide what is collected and why. Questions about privacy go to hello@vibelabs.no.
What stays on your phone
- The camera view during a session. Tilty uses it on the phone to spot head tilts. The recording is deleted when you close the summary.
- Clips you keep, and anything you save to Photos.
- Your dog's name and what Tilty has learned about which sounds your dog reacts to.
What Tilty sends, if you say yes
During setup Tilty asks whether you want to help make better sounds. Nothing is sent unless you tap "Yes, share anonymously". Then, after each session, Tilty sends:
- for each sound: its recipe (pitch, length and shape), whether the camera saw a head tilt and at what angle, and the reaction you tapped
- what you did with each clip: kept it, saved it or tapped Share (the clip itself is never sent)
- about the session: date and hour, length, how it ended, whether the camera and microphone were on, and the volume setting
- your dog's age group (puppy, adult or senior)
- the app version, phone model, iOS version and your region setting (a country code)
- a random ID made on your phone when you set up Tilty, so we can tell one phone's sessions from another's
None of this says who you are. The random ID isn't tied to your name, Apple ID, email or advertising ID. Tilty never sends video, photos, sound from the microphone, your dog's name, your GPS location or your contacts. There are no ads or ad trackers.
Why
To learn which sounds dogs react to, so Tilty can start every new dog with better sounds, and to check that sessions have the right length.
Legal basis
Your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you tap "Yes, share anonymously". You can withdraw it at any time by turning off "Help make better sounds" in Tilty's settings.
Where it is kept
In a database in Europe that Cloudflare runs for us as our data processor. Cloudflare, Inc. is a US company and takes part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Our server does not store your IP address. We keep the results for up to five years.
Nothing links the random ID to you, so we can't find your results on request. Turning sharing off stops new results, and deletes any not yet sent.
Your choices and rights
- Change your answer any time in Tilty's settings.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your phone, clips included. Clips you saved to Photos stay there.
- If you think we handle data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).
Permissions
- Camera: to spot head tilts and record clips.
- Microphone: to put sound in the clips.
- Photos (add only): to save a clip when you tap Save.
When you share a clip, the app or person you share it with handles it under their own terms.
Children
Tilty is for dog owners, and an adult should run every session. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
